Background
Jack is a Mechanical Engineer and Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ), with experience spanning mechanical design, manufacturing, maintenance, engineering assessment and amusement device safety.
Since joining DRA Safety in 2024, Jack has developed specialised experience in the inspection and assessment of amusement devices across Australia. His work includes Annual and Major Inspections, design verification, engineering assessments, risk assessment, and the development and review of NDT and inspection requirements.
Jack has experience across a broad range of amusement devices, including roller coasters, waterslides, Ferris wheels, go-karts, inflatables, ziplines and other specialised attractions. He works across both fixed and mobile amusement devices and applies relevant Australian and international standards to assess the safety, condition and compliance of equipment.
Prior to joining DRA, Jack worked across manufacturing and maintenance engineering roles, developing practical experience in mechanical design, reverse engineering, plant and equipment assessment, engineering upgrades, fabrication and maintenance.
This background provides a strong practical foundation that he applies to his assessment and consulting work within the amusement industry.
Jack is a member of Engineers Australia, holding MIEAust and NER credentials. He has attended the IAAPA Expo in Orlando and participated as an IAAPA Ambassador at the IAAPA Expo in China, gaining further exposure to international amusement industry practices and developments.
Jack’s technical knowledge, attention to detail and ability to interpret and apply engineering standards support his work in providing practical engineering solutions for amusement device owners and operators throughout Australia.
