DESCRIPTION:Risk Management Training\nThis Risk Management Training is designed to provide workers with the necessary skills and knowledge required to conduct effective risk assessments and Job Safety Analysis (JSA). This is the entry level risk training course designed to assist workers understand how to identify hazards\, assess risks\, select\, implement and monitor effective controls and contribute to the development of risk assessment documentation including Job Safety Analysis / Safe Work Method Statements etc. \nRisk Management Training will assist with the skills and knowledge required to contribute to WHS risk management. This includes the processes for identifying work health and safety (WHS) hazards and assessing and controlling the risk relating to those identified hazards. It involves contributing to the development\, implementation and evaluation of risk controls according to legislative and organisational requirements. \nParticipants will learn the risk assessment process. Our training can be very workplace specific and we can look at your risk assessment processes and the hazards that are specific to your workplace. We can use your processes and Job Safety Analysis documents. The training covers different methods of risk controls and the various consequences and categories of risk. The training focuses on the standard WHS practices as adopted from SafeWork Australia. \nDuring the course we will complete practical risk assessments and look at different methods for risk elimination and risk control. DESCRIPTION:Fire Safety Adviser Refresher Training\nThe Fire Safety Adviser is a person who holds an approved building fire safety qualification\, issued within the last three years. Approved building fire safety courses are made up of eight units of competency in Workplace Emergency Response within the Australian Quality Training Framework. \nThe Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008 was introduced on 1 July 2008. The most significant reform in the regulation is the requirement for occupiers of high occupancy buildings\, as defined under the regulation\, to appoint and train a Fire Safety Adviser. \nThis one day Fire Safety Adviser refresher courses reviews the following eight units of competency in Workplace Emergency Response within the Australian Quality Training Framework. SUMMARY:Health and Safety Representative Refresher Training 26th February 2025 – WHSQ Approved
DESCRIPTION:Health and Safety Representative Refresher Training\nThis Health and Safety Representative Refresher course is to update participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to fulfil their role as a Health and Safety Representative (HSR) in Queensland. DRA is a WorkSafe Queensland approved provider of this course\, which is compliant under the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011 (Qld). \nHSRs in Queensland are entitled to attend this WorkSafe Queensland approved one day training course every three years of the initial 5-day training course. Employers are required to allow the HSR to take paid time off work to attend this training and pay for training costs. \nFrom 1 February 2019\, all HSRs must undertake the relevant approved training course within three months of their election unless a training course is not reasonably available within this period. Existing HSRs\, who have not already completed the training\, must complete the training within the required period. If a worker chooses not to undertake the training within the time period\, they will no longer be eligible to fulfil the role of HSR and will need to be replaced. \nHSRs and deputy HSRs can ask a person conducting a business or undertaking (PCBU) to attend approved courses. \nThe PCBU must give HSRs paid time off to attend the Health and Safety Representative Refresher Training course and pay the course costs and reasonable expenses\, within three months of the request. \nThis Health and Safety Representative Refresher training course covers training required of a student in their role as an elected HSR. Training consists of written answers and practical exercises in the following: \n\nundertake workplace inspections\nreview the circumstances of workplace incidents\naccompany a WHSQ inspector during an inspection\nrepresent the work group in health and safety matters\nattend an interview about health and safety matters with a worker from the work group (with the consent of the worker)\nrequest that a health and safety committee be established\nparticipate in a health and safety committee\nmonitor compliance measures\ninvestigate work health and safety complaints from work group members\ninquire into any risk to the health and safety of workers in the work group\nissue provisional improvement notices and direct a worker to cease unsafe work (where the HSR has completed the approved training).\n\nThe role of a HSR is generally limited to their own work group unless: \n\nthere is a serious risk to health or safety (created by an immediate hazard) affecting workers from another work group\na worker in another work group asks for the HSR’s assistance\, and the HSR for that other work group is found to be unavailable.\n\nA HSR can only issue a provisional improvement notice (PIN) if they have attended an approved training course. \nThis course aims to provide HSRs and deputy HSRs\, with information and skills relating to: \n\nInterpreting the WH&S legislative framework and its relationship to the HSR\nIdentifying key parties and their legislative obligations and duties\nEstablishing representation in the workplace\nParticipating in consultation and issue resolution\nRepresenting members in the WHS risk management process undertaken by the PCBU\nIssuing a Provisional Notice (PIN) and directing the Cessation of Work.\n\nTraining courses approved under section 21 of the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011\, are:\n– an initial five-day training course\n– a one day Health and Safety Representative Refresher course at least every three years.
