SUMMARY:LockOut TagOut Isolation Training March 2023
DESCRIPTION:Lockout Tagout\nThis LOTO training includes information to safely perform tasks such as maintenance\, repair\, installation and cleaning of Plant (equipment). This is including any work processes requiring the isolation of the energy sources including electricity\, pressurised fluids or gases\, stored energy systems\, gravity and radiation (lasers). Further information is available in the SafeWork Australia Code of Practice for Plant. \nA robust isolation system provides protection for everyone in the workplace. This course provides the participants with the knowledge and understanding of locks and tags used within the workplace\, including; \n\nImportance of locking out plant and equipment\nConsequences of failing to lockout plant and equipment\nBasic principle of lockout procedures\nCorrect location for lockouts\nAppropriate isolation and lockout devices\nMethods of lockout\nImportance of correct procedures\n\nLockout is defined as the “placement of a lock & tag on an energy-isolating device in accordance with an established procedure\, indicating that the energy-isolating device is not to be operated until removal of the lock or tag in accordance with an established procedure”. This process isolates the energy from the system (a machine\, equipment\, or process) and physically locks the system in a safe mode. \nThis process can be achieved through manually operated physical disconnection switches or similar devices. Our training takes participants through what is and what is not a physical isolation. \nTag out is a labelling process that must be used when a lockout is to be established. The process of placing a tagging system with the lock ensures that there is an indicator/label that includes the following information: \n\nWhy the lockout/tag out is required (repair\, maintenance\, etc.).\nTime of application of the lock/tag.\nThe name of the authorized person who attached the tag and lock to the system.\n\nAs enforced through this training only the authorised individual who placed the lock and tag onto the system is the one who is permitted to remove them. Ensuring that the system cannot be started up without the persons knowledge. \nFor more information on this training please contact us or peruse the other training courses on offer.
